Result Round up of DLSW Matches during Halloween Weekend

Apart from Celebrating the Premier League Victory, Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club had one of the busiest weekends every. Below is the highlight of the Weekend’s Matches

Women’s League

The Wasps switched over to 35 over cricket and their first match was again against the best team in the league, HKCC Willow Wielders. DLSW Wasps won the toss and decided to bat and were all out for 65 runs. The HKCC side chased the score with 9 wickets in hand

Sunday League

Perhaps celebrated too much following DLSW Prism’s Premier League Victory, both the Sunday league teams started the season without registering a victory. It seemed seemed both sides had an unsettled look to them.

DLSW JKN were playing Pakistan Association on 1st November 2015 at Mission Road. Normally a contest with PACC is the highlight of the Cricketing Season, however this year with the Premier League final being played the day before it seems to lack a bit in hype. PACC won the toss and decided to bat first, posting 238/9 in 50 overs. With a slow outfield this was a very competitive total, HK International Nadeem Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for DLSW, with figures of 3 wickets for 21 runs in 10 overs. Jangzeb Khan also claimed 3 wickets for 37 runs while Amandeep Singh claimed 2 wickets for 24 runs.

JKN’s batting was in trouble losing 6 wickets for 39 runs. JKN Skipper Moner Dar came to the rescue with 72 runs and had a 131 run partnership with Shahid Wasif (49 runs). Unfortunately the damage was done in the top order and JKN team were all out for 182 runs in 46.1 overs. Pakistan Association won the match by 56 Runs

Over at Po Kwong Village Road Park was a similar story, the DLSW Knights lost the toss and were asked to field by the Sri Lankan Cricket Club. The Sri Lankan Side managed to score a competitive 211. Moeed Haider was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for 22 runs while Moshin Khan claimed 3 wickets.

The Knights batsmen fell short and only managed to score 151 runs. The DLSW Development side suffered a 60 run loss

Saturday League

DLSW Spartans carried on from the confidence with their win from last weekend and managed to beat Hong Kong University Cricket Club by 50 Runs. Being put to Bat first at PKVR Park, the Spartans innings started with a steady opening partnership between Jigar Parikh and Azhar Hussain. Hiren Shekhadiya, batting at number 4, top scored with 68 runs and help Spartans to post 208 for 8 in 35 overs. Hiren Shekhadiya was the star with the ball as well and picked up 3 wickets for 21 runs. The HKU side were all out for 158 runs.

DLSW Sarjan played their 2nd game in a row at Hong Kong Cricket Club for the Division 1 fixture against HKCC Gap Ramblers. This time the Sarjan team were put into bat by Gap Ramblers. Sarjan were missing their key player Wakas Khan to the Premier League game so the mantle fell to his twin brother Sarfaraz to be the top scorer. Sarfaraz scored 37 runs and Sarjan put on 163/8 in 35 overs. This target was 40 runs short on the small HKCC ground and the Gap Ramblers raced home in 26 overs with the loss of only 2 wickets.

Junior League

In the U11 League, DLSW Littles won their game against HKCC Black Rain by 75 runs, while the Tigers lost to HKCC Sharks by 77 runs.

In the U13 League, DLSW Tigers won over the DLSW Cheetahs by a massive 193 runs.
