Nadeem and Barbar lead DLSW Prism to Win against HKCC, DLSW Spartans lose a Thriller and other resu

DLSW Prism

On Sunday Oct 9th 2016 at HKCC, Nadeem Ahmed’s 5 wickets brought the winning way back for DLSW Prism in the Premier League.

Following previous weekend’s defeat, it was an

important game for DLSW Prism to win. The Hong Kong Cricket Club Side won the toss and decided to bat first. After an early wicket by Niaz Ali to have HKCC at 31/1, a partnership was building between Giacomo Lamplough and Scott McKechnie.

It was then up to the DLSW Spin Wiz Nadeem Ahmed taking two wickets in the 13th Over and broke the threatening partnership. Nadeem followed up by taking 3 more wickets for a total of 5 wickets at the cost of 21 runs in 6.5 overs. Eshan Khan 2 wickets for 17 runs in his 10 overs. HKCC were all out for 155 runs.

In the DLSW Chase the innings got off to a shaky start with the loss of opener Nadeem Ahmed for 1 in the 1st over. Babar Hayat, back in the team after missing last game, played another innings of significance and ensure victory for DLSW Prism by batting till the end and remained not out with 70 runs. DLSW Prism won by 4 wickets.

The Premier League Side Now has a break till 27th November to play a rematch against HKCC.

DLSW Spartans

The DLSW Spartans had a close game against HKU CC on Saturday Oct 8th at PKVR Park. HKU CC Won the toss and decided to bat first. Chamila Panduwawala top scored with 54 runs bringing the HKU total to 200. Spartan Mukesh Dholakiya claimed 4 wickets for himself for 42 runs in his 7 overs. Spartans fancied 200 runs to win.

The Spartans innings started with trouble as both Suresh Kumar Ghevariya (13) and Paras Patel (19) couldn’t capitalize on their starts to build a big score. Hiren Patel calmed the innings and held his end as the wickets kept falling on the other side of the wicket. A good partnership between Hiren Patel and Hari Virani almost got the team past the total with Hari Viran falling after scoring 50 runs being caught off the bowling of Subramanya Rao and the Spartans score 171/7.

With 30 runs to get Hiran had the responsibility to score the runs but ran out of partners in the end. Finally the innings ended when Hiren got Run Out on 54 runs in the 34th over with Spartans 6 runs short of a win (and with 8 balls to play).
