DLSW JKN's Batting needs strengthening when National Players are away.

DLSW JKN Lost their opportunity to win the league following another loss last weekend against KCC Templars. JKN needed to win the game to have a chance to win the title. But with Captain Babar Hayat and other key players not available due to Overseas commitments and National Cricket Tours during the season has meant the team has not been able to field the best XL in a number of league games.

Below is the recap of all matches played since October 2017

Vs HKCC Wanderers

The game against HKCC Wanderers on October 2nd 2018 was abandoned due to rain.

Vs Pakistan Assocation

On 5th November 2018, the DLSW JKN Team faced Pakistan Association in a rematch. This time JKN were put to field first. Eshan Khan’s preparing for his various upcoming tours was in good form with the ball and took 4 key wickets. The Sai Wan bowlers kept the Pakistan Association to a total of 228 all out. Then the national due of Babar Hayat (87 not out) and Eshan Khan (72 not out) ensured they won their game with 8.1 overs to spare. JKN had a comfortable 7 wicket victory.

Vs KCC Templars

The next game against KCC Templars started the worrying impact of JKN’s batting without Babar Hayat in the team. KCC Templars batted first and posted 294 in 50 overs, DLSW JKN then bowled out for 94 runs only.

Vs DTC Mobiles

On 14th Jan, the DLSW DTC Mobiles played DLSW JKN in the second Darby game of the season. The DTC Mobiles side were all out for 83 runs and the JKN Side chased it in 14 overs with 5 wickets to spare.

vs HKCC Wanderers

On 11th March. The HKCC Wanderers, who have endured a disappointing season, took on the DLSW JKN team knowing a win would most likely see them avoid relegation. DLSW JKN won the toss and elected to bat, it was a decision they’d come to regret, as Daljeet Singh (4 for 33) and Adil Mehmood (6 for 30) ripped through their batting line up. At one stage JKN were an incredible 17 for 9 inside 11 overs. A last wicket stand of 48 between Ghazanfar Mohammad (28 from 35 and) Dhananjay Rao (12 from 19) offered some relative respectability to the score line, JKN bowled out for 65 in 17.4 overs.

Vs KCC Templars

And finally we come to last weekend's match at Kowloon Cricket Club on April 22nd vs the KCC Templars. The JKN sided needed a win in their last two games with Bonus Points to win the title. JKN won the toss and decided to bowl first, KCC mainstay batting proved their worth with Jamie Atkinson with 62 and Scott McKechnie with 48 took KCC Side to a good score of 259 for 8 in 50 overs. Haroon Arshad was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 54 runs while Janhzeb Khan got 3 wickets for 57 runs.

But as the stroy of the season, the wickets kept falling for JKN during their batting, from 1st wicket falling with 6 runs on the board to 29 for 5 to 74 all out. Another dissapointing batting score led to a big 185 run victory for the KCC Templars side and ended any chance of JKN winning the Sunday Elite League.

With one more game to go against HKCC Scorpions, the JKN side need to put on a good batting display to proof there is dept to the batting the the Sai Wan Cricket Club when the senior batsmen are away.
