DLSWCC wins a T20 game but loses the Quaid-I-Azam Trophy to PACC

DLSW Premier League Team get a win against Pakistan Association but a loss and two washes make all games must win for the Team to win the league!

The Premier League started in January of 2018 and this year the competition is converted into a T20 Competition. The league consists of 5 teams with back to back games for each team playing home and away games on the same day.

Day 1 was on 7th January 2018 and DLSW lost crucial as the day was washed out so both Home and Away games against the Independents were abandoned.

Day 2 was on 21st January 2018 and the games were against Pakistan Assocation.

In the first game Pakistan Association batted first and posted 154 runs for 8 wickets in the 20 overs. Ghazanfar Mohamma was the pick of bowlers with 3 wickets for 23 runs. Leading the batting for DLSWCC was Amandeep Singh with 87 runs opening the bat for DLSWCC his innings ensured DLSWCC got past the target with 5 wickets to spare in 18.4 overs

In the second game DLSW batted first and Amandeep Singh scored another half century to score 55 runs in 40 balls. Haroon Arshad also contributed and missing his half century by scoring 47 runs. The DLSW team scored 144 runs in 20 overs. Pakistan Association also had a good innings in hand and it came from Yasim Murtaza’s 59 runs to give PACC a 6 wicket win.

With the loss and 4 games to play. DLSW has to catch up on points to ensure it overtakes PACC to win the title.

Quaid-I-Azam 2017

DLSWCC had a forgettable Two Day Game this season, losing the cherished Quaid-I-Azam Trophy to arch rivals Pakistan Association in the Premier League Two Day Game

The Mission Road Wicket has a lot of Grass for the two day game and PACC had no hesitation to win the toss and putting DLSWCC to Bat. The Team struggled with the movement of the ball and were bowled out for 73 runs in 23 overs on Day 1. PACC’s Tanvir Afzal took 6 wickets as a standout performer.

DLSWCC bowlers had PACC 17/4 in the 7th over but PACC’s Yasim Murtaza played a sensible innings of 61 runs to get PACC to 162 all out in 43rd overs. DLSW bowlers Jahanzaib Khan, Nadeem Ahmed and Eshan Khan all picked up 3 wickets each

Batting for the 2nd time in the same day, DLSWCC Knew they had to bat much better to be competitive in the game. However the batsman failed again and were 95 for 5 down at end of day 1

On day 2 the Shahid Wasif showed fight with 46 runs but the team was all out for 123 runs giving Pakistan Association only 34 runs to win. They won by 8 wickets.

Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club was unable to defend the Quaid-I-Azam trophy this year and will be eager to regain the trophy in 2018
