Hiren Patel's Ton and Rain dominate the weekend

We had a long weekend due to the public holiday on 2nd October, 2017.

Saturday 30th, September, 2017

U11 League

A couple of our teams the DLSWCC Lions and Littles were scheduled to play this weekend as well and just like last weekend their match was rained off.

Sunday 1st, October, 2017

U13 League

DLSWCC lions were up against UCC and DLSWCC littles were penned to play against HKCC optimists. Unfortunately, again the rain prevented the matches from being started and were consequently called off.

Women’s T20 cup

Sadly, there is no news to report in women’s t20 cup as the Match between DLSWCC Wasps and CC Fung Wong was also called off due to heavy downpour.

Sunday Elite

Finally, there was some news as the match between DLSWCC DTC Mobile vs HKCC Scorpions was completed without interruptions at HKCC. DTC bowled first with Scorpions posting 241 on the board at the end of the 1st innings. Nadeem Ahmed was pick of the bowlers on that slow track as he picked up 5 wickets for 39 in his 10 allotted overs. In response the DTC batsmen were bowled out for 158. The only pair to get a notable partnership in were Ibraheem Ishaq and Umair Khan scoring 37 and 26 respectively.

Monday 2nd, October, 2017

U15 league

In u15 league match our DLSWCC Cheetahs and Tigers were pitched up against each other but the match was rained off as well.

Saturday Champoionship

DLSWCC Spartans played CCC Hung See at PKVR park in a Saturday championship match. Having batted first the Spartans posted a mammoth total of 308/7 in 35 overs. Hiren Patel looked in spectacular form as he mustered 174 of 94 balls. He was hitting the ball all around the park at will. Zulu Ghevariya and Hari Virani played good support for Hiren scoring 41 and 35 runs respectively. The bowlers could get carried away having a big total on the board but they too stuck to their guns well and restricted CCC to 108 all out in 26 overs. All the bowlers combined together to get the wickets. Vimal Kalathiya 2/6, Hari Virani 2/12, Dhananjay Rao 2/10, Kishore Mangukiya 2/6, Zulu Ghevariya 1 /2 and Mukesh Dholakiya 1/22 were the wicket takers.

Sunday Elite

Both our Sunday teams were on show as DLSWCC JKN were up against HKCC wanderers at Mission road and DTC Mobile were playing against KCC Templars at KCC. But Only DTC’s match against Templars was completed as the match between JKN and Wanderers was called off due to wet outfield at mission road. DTC on the other hand were defeated in a match where the only shining light was Aftab Hussain’s Innings of 66 when the batsmen around him kept on gifting wickets away. The bowlers tried hard but the runs on the board were an issue once again for DTC.
