JKN wins JKN Cup for 9th Time in a row. DLSW Sarjan and DLSW Wasps win their games.

U11 League

In U11s 3 of our DLSWCC teams, the Kangaroos, Lions and littles were playing. All three times were on the losing side.

 

U15 League
In U15s our DLSWCC TIGERS were up against USRC and they too fell short of winning as having batted first the runs on the board were not enough.

 

U17 League
But the U17 tigers won their match against the same opposition in USRC. Batting First the tigers’ top order was in good form as Noman and Ismail got out in mid 20s having laid a solid platform for other batters and Jahangir and Munir didn’t disappoint as both got their fifties. Munir remained not out at 67* having opened the batting. Total was 190/3 in 35 overs.

While bowling in the 2nd innings the bowlers were all over the USRC batsmen and got them all out on 75. Pick of the bowlers were Shanzeen Shahzad 3 for 3 and Hassan Mohammad 3/13.

 

Saturday Championship League Division 1
Finally, in the biggest game of the day in Saturday Championhsip, DLSW Sarjan team was victorious against HKCC nomads in a match played at HKCC. Before the match the boys celebrated Saqib Mehmood s birthday. 


Sarjan batted first and scored 187/7 in 35 allotted overs. While Haseeb and Ibrahim couldn’t get a start, Aftab 32, Ahsan Ayaz 35 and Moner dar 45 did get good starts but were unable to convert into a big one.
In response Sarjan’s new ball boys Mohsin Khan and Usama started well from each end but the first wicket came about in the 10th over when the two bowlers combined to pick up a wicket. Usama was the bowler and Mohsin completed the catch.  In the middle overs Aftab, Asif and Shahwaiz bowled well as the picked up 5 wickets. Saqib the birthday boy though went for runs for the first time in a lon time as he has been economical in recent past. Ibrahim picked up two wickets to end the innings. Nomads ended the inning on 166/all out. 


On Sunday 17th, September, 2017

 

Women's T20
First was a match for DLSWCC Wasps vs USRC in women’s T20 game. Captain Shanzeen won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair Mahreen and Maryam started on the right foot. The score was at 80 plus and so was the heat hence the pair was retired in the 10th over for 30 runs apiece. In came captain Shanzeen and Jaswinder and Shanzeen took liking to the bowlers and scored her 1st 100 of the season of just 46 balls with 5 sixes and 12 fours while Jaswinder provider a perfect foil for her on the other end scoring 22 of 18 balls with both batters remaining not out at the end of the innings. DLSWCC WASPS ended with 256 runs on the board.


While bowling the wasps got them out on 61. With Shanzeen yet again leading from the front with 3/17 in her three overs, other wicket takers were Maryam 1/6, Iqra 2/11 and Mahreen 2/7. Shanzeen capped off a great weekend on personal level before heading out for national duty in the East Asia games.

JKN Cup / Sunday Elite League Division 1
Finally, it was time for the in house match the JKN cup. The toss was won by Babar Hayat the JKN captain and he decided to bat first on an astro track. Batting first they scored 280/10 in 49.4 overs.
Babar Hayat was the top scorer with 77 while Shahid Wasif and Amandeep batting lower the order this time scored 58 and 52 respectively. Hiren Patel also scored 40 runs at the top of the order. 
Aftab Hussain picked up 3 crucial wickets for DTC with the help of Ibrahim who also took 3 wickets. While Nadeem picked up 2 wickets while MOhsin khan and SAqib picked up a wicket each.


While Chasing DTC kept loosing regular wickets and at the end they won the match comfortably. Only captain Moner showed some resistence with 46 runs but it wasn’t enough. DTC were bundled out for 166/10.
