After last week’s washout of the Elite League Game. This weekend has a full busy three day weekend for DLSWCC Teams during the Mid-Autumn Festival

DLSWCC’s Premier League and the Women League teams will start their season this weekend. And the Championship League Team DLSW Sarjan will play their first game as well (second fixture following the washout last weekend).

The Junior Teams in the U11, U13 and U17 Leagues will also start their season this weekend. Preview for the coming Junior Season will be out tomorrow.

DLSW PRISM

DLSW Prism side will be looking to defend their title from last season. All the other teams will come hard against the champions. Moner Dar has decided to step down as captain of DLSW Prism side after being captain of Sai Wan’s top side for 6 years however Moner will continue to play in the side and be one of the key players.

The Management has decided to appoint Ehsan Khan as the new captain of the Premier League Team while HK Skipper Babar Hayat has been named as Vice-Captain. Ghulam Saqlain will be the Coach of the team.

The squad for the DLSW Prism team looks strong with a number of players in the squad currently playing in the HK Team. The team looks good repeat its success of the last season, but needs to be weary of the challenge as the Premier League season this year will be longer than last year. 8 matches will be played per team. There are 5 teams in the league with each team playing each other in a home and away basis.

The Squad for DLSW Prism named so far is:

DLSW WASPS

This season the Wasps squad looks hungry to make a major impace on the HK Cricket Scene. Shanzeen Shahzad, fresh from a award winning 2015-2016 season, and Coach Saqlain have been working hard getting a full squad ready during the summer months. They have announced the following team management to look after the Wasp Team in the coming season

  • Captain: Shanzeen Shahzad

  • Vice-Captain (35 Overs): Manpreet Kaur

  • Vice-Captain (T20): Mehreen Yousaf

  • Vice-Captain (Sixes): Jaswinder Kaur

  • Coach: Ghulam Saqlain

  • Manager: Gohar Dar

  • Assistant Manager: Mohammed Yousaf

The Wasp Team will start their first match against a struggling Pakistan Association team on Friday 16th September at Mission Road. The weather forecast for this match doesn’t look good as the ground has poor drainage. The 2nd match this weekend will be against CCC team. This will be a good contest as both teams had a number of good contests in the past season. The Wasps team will be confident to win this game as well

Women’s Team Coach Ghulam Saqlain said, “We have a good chance this year, as the players have developed their skills well over the years and we are one of the better fielding sides in the league. We back ourselves to win all the three competitions this year and we believe we have a balanced team to do so."

DLSW SARJAN

Sarjan team will take on Centaurs on 17th September 2016 at Mission Road, hopefully the team will get a chance to play after their first games against DLSW Spartans was washed out. The Zulu Dar Trophy this year will be shared between the two side.
