DLSW wins U15 Premier League Finals and adds 3rd Major Title of the Year.

Following the HKCA Premier League and the U17 Premier League Championships, the DLSW Tigers have won the U15 Premier League Title. Below is the season review for the DLSW U15 Sides. As well as round up of other Junior League Matches.

 

Premier League

 

DLSW Tigers

 

The DLSW Tigers started their league season with a loss against HKCC Optimists. The match was played at Hong Kong Cricket Club on the 10th of February. Chasing 230 runs against HKCC Optimists, the Tigers managed only 98 runs and lost by a massive 132 runs

 

The second match against KCC was washed out on 20th February 2016

 

The third match against DLSW Cheetahs was also abandoned.

 

The forth match was against Pakistan Association, this was played on 19th March 2016 at Mission Road. Pakistan Association decided to bat first, however the two DLSW Bowlers Dhananjay Rao and Mohammad Qadeer bowled and impressive spell and took 3 wickets each to restrict Pakistan Assocation to 159 runs.

 

DLSW Tigers started the innings on a positive note and played attaching cricket, Munir Khan played a steady innings and scored 74 runs for his team. The Tigers chased the target in the 28th over with 7 wickets to spare. DLSW Tigers were through to the Semi Finals.

 

The Semi Final was hosted by HKCC and it was against HKCC Optimists played on 2nd April 2016. The HKCC Optimists had already defeated the Tigers in a league game but this time Tigers were confident from their win against Pakistan Association. HKCC Optimists decided to bat first but the bowling and fielding from DLSW Tigers was must tighter, restricting HKCC to 140/5 in 30 overs.
 

The chase was once again led by Munir Khan who remained not out on 47, and won the game for the team by 9 wickets. DLSW Tigers were through to the final.

 

In the final the opponents were Pakistan Association. A DLSW vs PACC game in a final was eagerly looked forward to by HK Cricket fans, and this time the game was held at HKCC.

 

PACC Won the toss but decided to put DLSW Tigers to bat. Tigers having won their last two games chasing the innings relied on their top order. PACC managed to get 2 wickets with the score on 68 runs including the wicket of inform Munir Khan. However DLSW tigers showed their depth in Batting and Jahangir Khan coming in at no 5 top scored 91 runs for the tigers. The Tigers got a completive 214 runs for 5 wickets in their 30 overs.

 

The PACC innings got off to a shaky start with score on 21/2. Munir Khan took three wickets for 33 runs while Vikas and Dhananjay took two wickets each to have PACC u15s all out for 187 runs

DLSW Tigers won the U15 Finals by 27 runs.

 

DLSW Cheetahs

 

On February 6th 2016, the Cheetahs played their first game against Pakistan Association U15 Team. The DLSW won the toss and decided to bat first and it turned out to be the correct decision. DLSW Batsman Vishesh led the batting with 92 runs and took the Cheetahs to a score of 191 for 6 in their 30 overs.

 

If Vishesh was the star for Cheetahs Batting then Pratik was the star in the bowling. Taking 5 wickets for 29 runs and cleaning up the Pakistan Association side for 150 runs. The Cheetahs won their first game by 41 runs.

 

The Second game for DLSW Cheetahs was against Kowloon Cricket Club U15s at Mission Road on 13th February 2016. Once again the Cheetahs won the toss and decided to bat first. However this time they were bo

 

wled out for 129 runs in 26 overs. The Kowloon Cricket Club side won the match with 9 wickets to spare.

 

The next game on 26th February at the same venue was against HKCC Optimists. This time the result was even more one sided. HKCC Optimists opted to bat first and posted 203/3 in their 30 overs. In reply the Cheetahs only mustered 88 runs and were all out in the 21st over.

 

The last game was a Darby game against DLSW Tigers but unfortunately this game was abandoned and along with it any chance for DLSW Cheetahs to play in the semi finals.

 

Elite League

 

There were two DLSW Teams in the U15 Elite Division, DLSW Littles and DLSW Lions.

Both the team’s first game was against each other. A Darby match on 13th February 2016 at St Stephen’s College. DLSW Lions won the toss and asked the Littles to bat. The Littles scored 169/7 in their 30 overs. The Lions then chased the score in 16 overs with 8 wickets in hand

The Littles won their second game by forfeit against HKCC Witherers as the HKCC side played an ineligible player.

In their third game of the season, DLSW Littles faced United Warriors. The United Warriors posted 198 in 30 overs which was a very competitive score. The Littles had been struggling with chasing big innings but this was the day when their batting came good and ultimately put them in the Elite Division Final. Jainam with his 61 not out and Ansh with 50 runs put on a 2nd wicket partnership which formed the backbone of an 8 wicket win by DLSW Littles. The DLSW scores 202 in 26.2 overs.

 

The Littles last league match was against USRC Elite. USRC were put into bat and scored 246/8, The Littles reply was 142 all out in 28.2 overs.

 

In the Elite League Grand Final, played in 9th April 2016 at Mission Road. The DLSW Littles won the toss and decided field first. The USRC Elite as they have done all season, put on a huge score of 269/6 in their 30 overs.

 

DLSW Littles were all out for 116 in the batting innings. The second team this season to come runners up in an Elite Division Final following the U17 DLSW Tigers

 

DLSW Lions

 

In their second game the DLSW Lions faced United Warriors at St Stephen Collage on 21st February 2016. Chasing 197 runs the team got very close and ultimately lost by 22 runs being all out for 175.

 

Their third match was a massive defeat at the hands of USRC Elite. USRC batted first and piled on a massive 394/5 in 30 overs. The Lions managed to 155/6 in their 30 overs.

 

The Lions won their last match of the season against HKCC Witherers at HKCC played on 19th March 2016. Chasing 161 runs, Lions made 162/6 in 28.2 overs winning by 4 wickets
