DLSW Knights Matches Round Up

Vs HKCC Scorpions
 

The Knights had a tough match as their last game of 2015. Playing at HKCC on 20th December 2015, the Knights were put into bat first and were bowled out for 94 runs. Niaz Ali  made the highest contribution with 38 runs. The Scorpions won the game by 9 wickets

 

Vs Pakistan Association

 

The Knights didn’t do much better against Pakistan Association. On 3rd January 2016 at PKVR Park, the weather was wet and washed out half a day of play. Once the skies cleared The Knights faced the formidable side and once again lost the toss, but this time they were asked to bowl, lucky the game was reduced to 20 overs a side.

 

Batting first Pakistan Association smashed 232/4 in 20 overs, in reply DLSW Knighs were all out for 49 runs.

 

Vs KCC Templars

 

At Kowloon Cricket Club on Valentines Day, KCC Templars showed no love towards DLSW Knights with a 107-run victory over DLSWCC Knights.
 
Templars batted first after winning the toss but they were soon in trouble at 3/12 with Lamsam, Shroff and Atkinson all back in the pavilion. Niaz Ali and Amanat Khan made the early strikes for the Knights. Ryan Campbell and Ninad Shah steadied the ship with a 72-run partnership and Campbell went on to top-score with 73. The Infidels lower order backed him up with some good contributions including 37 from Imran Arif and 46 not out from skipper Ashley Caddy as Templars reached 222 all out from 48 overs.
 
The Knights reply never got going and they lost wickets at regular intervals. A 44-run fifth wicket partnership them over the 100 mark but from 4/102 they slumped to 115 all out. Nasir Hameed’s 30 was the Knights’ top score on the day. For Templars, Waqas Barkat claimed 3/33 while Imran Arif picked up 3/8.
 
At KCC: KCC Templars 222 from 48 overs beat DLSWCC Knights 115 from 36 overs by 107 runs

 

Vs HKCC Optimists

 

On 6th March 2016, HKCC Optimists scored a bonus point after beating DLSWCC Knights 73 runs at Hong Kong Cricket Club.
 
Optimists batted first after winning the toss and their openers put on 58 runs for the first wicket with Sam O’Malley hitting 36. Both openers fell with the score on 58 and Optimists were quickly reduced to 4/70. Tej Sheopuri (35) and James Dhillon then shared an 81-run partnership for the fifth to lift Optimists to 5/151. Dhillon continued on to reach 103 while Steve Pitt hit 38 not out as Optimists finished on 9/271. Safaraz Khan was the pick of the bowlers for DLSWCC Knights with figures of 3/51 from nine overs.
 
The DLSWCC Knights reply got off to a poor start with both openers dismissed with only 19 runs on the board. Partnerships were fleeting as Knights slipped to 4/66 with Elliot Andrews grabbing 3/34. A 61-run stand between Ibraheem Muhammad (45) and Niaz Ali (65) for the fifth wicket proved the best on day for the Knights and they were all out for 198. Ryan Rollason mopped up the Knights’ tail, claiming figures of 3/12 from 3.4 overs.
 
At HKCC: HKCC Optimists 9/271 from 50 overs beat DLSWCC Knights 198 from 46.4 overs by 73 runs.
 

Vs KCC Infidels

 

On 28th March 2016, KCC Infidels got the better of DLSWCC Knights in a Sunday Championship match played on Easter Monday.

 

Infidels chose to bat first after winning the toss but they lost their first wicket with only one run on the board. Harsh Jogani (39) and Ankur Vishita (58) combined in a 104-run second wicket partnership for Infidels but both batsmen perished within the space of five runs. Simondeep Singh (33) and Ehsan Nawaz (35) bolstered the Infidels’ score to 218 while Ibrahim Mohammed picked up 3/44 for the Knights.

 

Ibrahim (35) got the Knights’ reply away to a solid start but from 0/46, they slipped to 5/76 with Najeeb Amar grabbing four wickets. Sarfaraz Khan added 30 in sixth wicket partnership worth 49 runs but the Knights’ resistance folded once Khan was dismissed and they were eventually all out of 157. Najeeb picked up two more wickets to finish with the fine figures of 6/13 from nine overs.  

 

At Mission Road: KCC Infidels 218 from 48.3 overs beat DLSWCC Knights 157 from 50 overs by 61 runs.
