Haseeb Muhammad’s Ton leads DLSW Spartans’ Victory! And U17 DLSW Tigers claim 4th Victory in a row!

DLSW Spartans won the toss against CCC Hung See at Police Training College and decided to bat first, openers Muhammad Haseeb and Jigar Shah put on a good 62 run opening partnership. Once Jigar fell on 20 the other wickets kept following but Haseeb kept his end. Haseeb Muhammad dominated proceedings with a fine 115 as Spartans posted a score of 204 all out in 35 overs. Twelve-year-old Dhruv Sodhi claimed the bowling honours for Hung See with 5/40 from seven overs.

Hung See got away to a slow but steady start and they looked well placed to push on after reaching 1/46. However, a mini-collapse saw them slip to 4/51 and from there they never recovered. Hung See’s middle and lower order batsmen managed to see out the 35 overs as they totaled 6/116. Hari Virani (3/21) was the best of the bowlers for Spartans.

This was another bonus point victory as DLSW Spartans defeated CCC Hung See by 88 runs.

At PTC: DLSW Spartans 204 from 35 overs beat CCC Hung See 7/116 from 35 overs by 88 runs.

The U11 Teams ended their league matches on a high with wins in both games. DLSW Cheetahs beat United Jaguars by 23 runs. Cheetahs had batted first and scored 163 runs. The DLSW Kangaroos smashed 212/3 in their scored innings surpassing 164 runs by HKCC Rebels, winning by 48 runs. This ends the U11 League and the U11 Championships will begin in January. The Premier Teams in U11 League will be asked to pay in the Premier Division Hardball League, while the rest would be invited in the U11 Elite league

The U13 DLSW Littles lost to United Hawks by 87 runs at KGV. The next round of U13 Matches will being in the New Year.

The U17 DLSW Tigers played HKCC Nomads at HKCC on 12th December. The Match started at early 8am and DLSW Tigers won the toss and decided to bat. Having cherished the opportunity to bat at the excellent HKCC grounds the Tigers put on a good display. Opener Harpreet Singh continued his good run with the bat with 54 runs of 48 balls. Skipper Hamza Azhar, with a run a ball 42, and Jagjeet Singh, smashing 43 runs off 34 balls, provided good support to get the Tigers to a 198 runs in 32 overs. The team however was all out before their full quota of 35 overs were bowled.

HKCC Nomads started well with their opeining batsmen getting the team off to a decent start. But the the wickets started to fall at regular internals and the U17 Nomads were all out for 109 runs. The pick of the DLSW Tigers bowlers were Harpreet Singh, with 2 wickets for 12 runs, Hamza Azhar with 2 wickets for 9 runs and Karandeep Sing h with 2 wickets for 26 runs. The DLSW U17 Tigers won by 89 runs

Next Weekend promised to be action backed for Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club, DLSW JKN host KCC Templars at Kowloon Cricket Club on 20th December 2015. While DLSW Knights are hosted by HKCC Scorpions at Hong Kong Cricket Club on the same day.

DLSW Sarjan play Centaurs at Mission Road on 19th December in the Saturday Div 1 Championships. The only Junior League Cricket Actions is between U17 Team DLSW Tigers vs Pakistan Association at Mission Road on 19th December 2015 in the morning prior to the Saturday League Match.
