Barber and Waqas "Tons" bring in the new year.


Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club celebrated the new year hundreds from DLSW Prism's National Players Baber Hayet and Waqas Khan.

The Premier League match between DLSW Prism and Pakistan Association was played on New Year Day at Mission Road. The conditions were great for cricket however the game was played on Artificial Wicket.

Coming from the batting success against the same side in the 2 day game over the Christmas weekend. Captain Eshan Khan has no hesitation to bat first once winning the toss. Youngster Harpreet Singh was given an opportunity to bat first but was out in the first over. Barber Hayat walked in the first over and then build almost a 100 run partnership with Amandeep Singh. Amandeep was out LBW in the 20th over with his score on 32 and the team score on 101/2. Waqas Khan promoted to number 4 joined Barber and the pair played their strokes to all sides of the ground. Barber dominated hitting 130 runs off 116 balls including 4 sixes and 16 fours. Barber was out in the 33rd over caught by Anas Khan off the bowling of Mohsan Khan. The score was 216. Shahid Wasif contributed but it was now time for Waqas Khan to start to dominated and not let the run rate slip down. Waqas stayed not out till the end and managed to score his hundred (102 not out ) off 83 balls including 4 sixes. The score for Prism Team was now 323/7 in 50 overs. DLSW Captain and Coach would have been very happy with this score.

The DLSW Spinners took hold of the game taking 8 of the wickets. Mudassar Hussain took 3 for 51 while skipper Eshan Khan took 3 for 25. Haseeb Amjad and Nadeem Ahmed also picked up 2 wickets each. The Pakistan Association side was all out for 186 runs in 38.3 overs. DLSW Prism won the game by 137 runs.

This Weekend

The U11 Championship League Starts this Saturday 7th January 2017 at PKVR Reservoir with U11 Teams DLSW Kangaroos and DLSW Littles in action. The U13 Cheetahs have a Elite League Game vs HKCC Optimists at KGV on 8th January 2017 at 1pm

The U15 League also sees three DLSW U15 Teams in action this weekend. The DLSW Tigers play the KCC U15s at Mission Road at 8 am on 7th January, while the DLSW Lions take on the DLSW Littles at 8am on Sunday 8th Jan at Mission Road

Also on Sunday at Mission Road at 1pm, for the only Adult League game this weekend The DLSW Sarjan Championship League Team will play Pioneers.
