DLSW Knights remain unbeaten, Moner Dar, Harpreet Singh, Gururaj, Aftab Hussain and Sher Yar Saeed s


DLSW Knights

Moner Dar showed once again why he is such a dangerous player. Going back in time and bringing his destructive batting to win a game from a dire situation for DLSW Knights. Moner who has been a player coach for the Knights team have now secured them a third win in a row and an important lesson to the upcoming cricketers of never say die.

USRC Millennium CC won the toss and decided to bat first at Mission Road on 11th December. Gururaj Aswathnarayana picked up 4 wickets for 18 runs for nights however USRC still managed to reach 178 runs thanks to 73 runs from Mohammed Umar.

Chasing 179 the Knights started off well with a good opening partnership of 65 runs between Gururaj (34) and upcoming batsman Aftab Hussain (24) then a mini collapse took the team to 89 for 4 wickets and the Monir brought a steady hand to the Kinghts' innings. Moner 77 runs of 80 balls including 3 big sixes. The Knights won with 3 wickets in hand.

DLSW Sarjan

The Sarjan have had a good couple of weeks with two wins in two games. This puts them back on track to seek for qualification back into Division 1 of the Championship League.

The game on 3rd December at PKVR Park was against Kai Tak CC. Sarjan won the toss and decided to bat first and piled on the runs. Led by an amazing 112 of 111 balls by Harpreet Singh the Sarjan team scored an incredible 224 for 2 in 35 overs. 165 runs was the opening partnership and Aftab Hussain supported Harpreet with 65 runs. Aftab Hussain is truning out to be a name which will feature regularly in Hong Kong Cricket Articles, a bright future for the young lad.

The Kai Tak Team was all out for 189 runs in 35 overs. Ghazanfar Mohammad was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 37 runs. Aftab Hussain also managed to pick up 2 wickets and Sarjan won by 35 runs.

On 10th December at the same venue at PKVR Park, Sarjan team faced Laguna Gully CC. Laguna won the toss and decided to bat first and were all out for 124 runs. Aftab Hussain did the bulk of damage and picked up 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 7 overs. Nabeel Mohammed and Harpeet Singh picked up 2 wickets each.

Sher Yar Saeed's 50 took the Sarjan team home with 5 wickets to spare. The Sarjan won the game in the 27th Over.

Next Weekend

The Zulu-Dar Trophy is back, the match is been rescheduled after the Championship League game was washed out earlier in the season.

The Wasps look to change the fortune in the 35 over game with the last game of 2016. The DLSW Wasps play defending Champions HKCC Willow Wielders at PKVR Park. Also we have both Elite League teams JKN and Knights playing key games.
