DLSW In Action during HK Series Win against PNG, U17 Tigers and U13 Lions smash 300+ runs

As HK won their 3 Match ODI series against PNG with many DLSW members involved including HK Skipper Babar Hayat, Eshan Khan, Wakas Khan, Shahid Wasif, Nadeem Ahmed, as well as Ghulam Saqlain as Assistant Coach of HK team and Tabark Dar standing as Umpire in the matches. DLSW were also busy with a weekend full of matches. Below are the match reports.

Ramzan Khan

U13 League

The DLSW U13 Lions won the toss and decided to bat first. The Littles were the younger team however the Lions decided to show no mercy and attached the Littles bowlers hard. The top three Lions batsman smashed the littles all over the park at PKVR Reservoir. Jagraj Singh scored 103 runs in 72 runs, Ramzan Khan scored 101 off an incredible 34 balls while opening batsman Faizan Khan scored 97 runs. The Lions reached 394 for 1 in 30 overs.

The Littles were 120 runs all out in 20.2 overs completing a one sided match. The pick of the bowlers was Asim Mohammed with 5 wickets for only 7 runs.

The U13 Lions won by 274 Runs

DLSW Sarjan

The Sarjan team played their third game of the season against SCC Lancers at PKVR Park. The Lancers won the toss and decided to bat. The Sarjan Team had the Lancers in trouble at 28 for 5 in the 9th over. However Asif Ismail steady the innings somewhat with his 47 runs off 85 balls. The Sarjan bowlers Muhammed Osama took 3 wickets for 16 runs while Nabeel Mohammed took 3 wickets for 19 runs. Lancers ended up with 128 runs all out.

The Sarjan team would be happy to chase 129 and would consider their chances as good, with the bowlers doing their part. However their batsman let them down, Sher Saeed was the top scorer with 19 runs and the Sarjan Team folded for 104 all out losing the game by 24 runs.

U17 League

The DLSW Tigers had two back to back games last weekend. On Saturday 5th November, they played LMC at St Stephen’s College. LMC Won the toss and made the Tigers bat first. Tigers started positively with both opening batsman getting runs, Noman Ali (47) and Munir Khan (37). Jagjeet Singh also pitched in 43 runs to take Tigers to a good commanding score of 253 runs.

The LMC Team were 139 runs not out and were not really in the game. Ismail Awan was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 10 runs and Dhananjay Rao, Noman Ali and Hassan taking 2 wickets each. The Tigers won by 114 runs

On Sunday the Tigers faced club mates played the Lions and there was no curtesy showed to club mates. The Tigers were put in to bat by the Lions and Janghir Khan took the opportunity to hit 107 runs off 84 balls including 8 sixes. Janghir Khan’s innings supported by 40s from Ismail Awan and Jagjit Singh lead Tigers to score 335 runs. Credit to the Lion Bowlers who managed to get the Tigers all out for 335 in 31.2 overs. Lions pick of the bowlers was Aryan Shetty with 4 wickets for 41 runs.

The Lions were all out for 104 runs. Ismail Awan picked up 5 wickets for 26 runs handing a massive 231 run victory to Tigers.

U11 League

The Littles lost a close game against DB Smashers by 18 runs. While the DLSW Kangaroos had to give another forfeit this time to HKCC Hawks
