Knights and Wasps have easy wins, plus 50s from U13 players Ansh Doshi and Faizan Khan
It was a good weekend to be a member of Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club as a number of its teams have good convincing wins. DLSW Knights, DLSW Wasps and DLSW U13 Lions also registered points in the respective leagues
DLSW Knights
The Knights faced the confident Sportsroad Dragons team fresh from their victory againts Sri Lankan Cricket Club. This all Chinese side has shown tremendous growth in skill since their debut last season in the Elite League (Known then as Sunday League). Both Knights and Dragons are in the second division in the Elite League
It was a very warm day at Mission Road. Daimee Yee, Captain of the Dragons, won the toss and decided to bat first. The Knights team has a good fielding unit and immediately showed their effort by picking early wickets from the Dragons. Every Knights bowler picked up a wicket and the Dragons innings never really got going and they were all out for 118 in the 50th Over.
The Knights wanted a quick finish and went for runs. Li Ka Ming bowled well, after being hit for a massive six in his first over, and took 3 wickets for 34 runs in his 10 overs. Ibraheem Mohammed Ishaq was the top scorer for Knights with 35 runs and the Knights chased the score in the 35th over with 5 wickets to spare.
DLSW Wasps
The Wasps team had a easy win against USRC. Mehreen won her first toss as captain, as Shanzheen was on a break, and had no hesitation to have a bat. Opener Manpreet scored another 50 runs as she batted the full 20 overs to remain on 55 not out. Akasha Yousuf scored 32 when she was run out with the score on 81 for wasps. Maryam Bibi then joined Manpreet and was also unbeaten in the end with 32 runs not out. DLSW Wasps were 175 for 1 at the end of 20 overs.
The score was too much for the new players of USRC. The DLSW Bowlers had them all out for 60 runs. Kinza Shahid was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 10 runs. Harsha Motwani picked up 2 wickets for 10 runs.
DLSW Wasps won by 115 runs.
U13 League
The game on Saturday 23rd September 2016 was good one for Ansh Doshi, who scored his second 50 playing for DLSW Littles against Pakistan Association in the U13 Elite League Match at PKVR Reservoir. Batting First DLSW Littles' innings was held together by Ansh's Doshi 76 runs, all the rest of the batsman scored in single digits as they were all out for 149 runs. Pakistan Assocation's Ammar took 5 DLSW wickets for 14 runs in his 6 overs.
The Pakistan Assocation U13 team quickly chased the target with 6 wickets to spare.
On Sunday at KGV in the second U13 Elite Game of the weekend; the DLSW Lions smashed the DB Smashers by 8 wickets. DB Smashers decided to win the toss and bat first posting only 69 runs. The Lions bowlers did the job and was a simple target for the Lions. Faisan Khan for DLSW Lions scored 55 runs opening the batting and took the team over the target in 8 overs with 8 wickets to spare
U11 League
Two games were played for DLSW U11 Teams. The U11 Cheetahs batted first against HKCC Cobras and managed to score 54/5 in the 6 overs. The HKCC Team scores 78 runs in the overs and won the game by 25 runs
The Second match was between DLSW Tigers and HKCC Sharks. This was a one sided game and easy win for the HKCC team. The Sharks put on 318 in their 16 overs in reply the Tigers only managed 128
